Photofacial/XPL
Skin Therapy

The Photofacial/XPL process uses high intensity light to improve skin tones. The treatment is ideal for rosecea or sun damaged skin. By delivering multiple different wavelengths of energy with each pulse, tiny blood vessels are removed.

In addition, under the Photofacial/XPL process extra pigment is destroyed leaving the treated skin appearing younger and more evenly toned. The therapy usually requires an average of 4-8 treatments and there is minimal discomfort and no down time. This is an ideal treatment to combine with the Affirm laser thereby achieving exceptional facial rejuvenation.

Photofacial/XPL therapy is considered a non-ablative resurfacing technique, which means that it targets the lower layers of skin (dermis) without affecting the top layers of skin (epidermis). The results are not as dramatic as ablative resurfacing where both the dermis and epidermis are injured to produce a much more noticeable overall outcome. The advantage of Photofacial/XPL therapy is it’s minimal downtime – a patient can often have the procedure done in their lunch break and return to work immediately afterwards.
